Honoring the life of poet Adrienne Rich with a program of readings from her work. Rich dared to reveal with razor-edge clarity the horrors and loneliness of life inside this colossus, while refusing to blame the people for the conditions forced upon them.

June 6, Wednesday, 7 pm
James Russell discusses his book, Escape from Texas. Set in the years surrounding the 1836 Texas War of Independence, Escape From Texas examines the clashing aspirations of slaves, slave owners, Native Americans, and Mexicans during a turning point in the westward expansion of the U.S.

Talk by Matilde Marcolli, professor of mathematics at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. Marcolli, author of many papers and books, including Feynman Motives, will present a slide show, "The notion of space in mathematics," intended for general audiences. $10 donation.
