When it comes to crossing borders, who are the real criminals? It's NOT the people who are forced to leave their homes to seek work because imperialism has ruined their countries—who risk their lives to get here and then get shunted to the lowest-paying, most backbreaking work, while being hunted down like animals. The real criminals are the imperialist system and its representatives who respect no borders as they plunder and dominate whole nations and violently and illegally invade other countries in order to expand their global empire.
The "Wanted For Illegally Crossing Borders" T-shirt brings out this truth in a powerful and very popular way. Thousands of these shirts were sold at marches around the country on May Day. In Chicago they flew off the carts and sold out.
One T-shirt supplier who really dug the design helped produce 2,000 T-shirts and also bought the DVD of Bob Avakian's talk Revolution: Why It's Necessary, Why It's Possible, What It’s All About. A report from one city said that they haven't figured out yet how many shirts were sold on May 1st, “but it was a lot...It was brilliant and hit home. One thing I can remember being told is that the newspaper and the T-shirt are connected irrevocably in people's minds. That's a fine thing."
We want to put this T-shirt project in people's hands, all over the country. Here's how:
- Email us at rcppubs@hotmail.com for the PDF files (printable files).
- Find a vendor or supporter in your area to make the T's (google “T-shirts” for your area if you don't have a contact).
- Make as many T's as you can and sell them for $10 while you sell Revolution. Then send the surplus funds to the newspaper to help further expand distribution.
